Kathy and Joe Rinaldi bring decades of experience in theatre and performance from New York to Canada, blending a deep understanding of storytelling with a vibrant, theatrical approach to improvisation. Together, Kathy and Joe co-lead ImprompTwo, an innovative duo exploring the intersection of scripted and improvised storytelling. Most recently, they have partnered with The Pretend Company in London to promote and expand the reach of improvised theatre across the UK.
Joe Rinaldi is a veteran SAG/AFTRA/AEA actor whose career spans television, film, and professional theatre across the Northeast, Midwest, and New England. A passionate improviser, Joe seamlessly moves between Shakespearean drama and longform narrative improv—often in the same breath. He is a former producer and artistic director of Firedrake Productions (NYC), and a founding member of several acclaimed improv ensembles, including Come What Will (Shakespearean improv), Unconsciously Coupled, and ImprompTwo.
Kathy Rinaldi is a professional playwright and theatre director with credits in Toronto, New York, and Florida. Her broad theatrical background includes directing, producing, and serving in leadership roles with theatre companies throughout Canada and the U.S. A founding member of ImprompTwo, co-founder of Unconsciously Coupled, and former Co-Director /Producer of Firedrake Productions, Kathy expertly weaves her scripted theatre expertise into the world of improvisation.

ImprompTwo is not your average improv troupe. Known for their emotionally resonant, intimate, and often hilarious performances, this duo takes improvised theatre to a new level—one where vulnerability, timing, and chemistry drive the story just as much as wit and spontaneity.
Over the past seven years, they’ve brought their unique form of improv to festivals around the world, most recently in Oslo, Liverpool, Lisbon, and Nottingham, where their newest show, From Dawn to Dusk, received standing ovations. They bring decades of experience in theatre and performance from New York to Canada, blending a deep understanding of storytelling with a vibrant, theatrical approach to improvisation. ImprompTwo has been invited to perform at improv festivals and theatres around the world, including:

ImprompTwo: Where Story Meets Soul
We love spontaneous theatre. There! We've said it. Whether it’s our genre-rich performances like Southern Gothic, Passion Noir, From Dawn to Dusk, the wildly popular The Jazz Club, or our contemporary, time-jumping journey Stories: Scenes from a Building, we are drawn to scenes where emotional connection is everything.
Improv, for us, is transformational. We’ve seen audiences laugh, cry, and feel deeply moved—only to come up afterward and say, “We wish there was more.”
ImprompTwo is renowned for blending silence, humor, and raw passion into unforgettable performances. It’s this unique mix that’s made us festival favorites.
We don't just perform scenes. We live them.
ImprompTwo makes you weep and laugh in the space of one show. There is genuine feeling and tension played by excellent performers who have absolute trust in one another. Watching it, you hope the show will never end.
Jonathan Nguyen

We’re thrilled to announce that ImprompTwo is expanding! A group of amazingly talented improvisers will be joining us to help create bold, original, and exciting new improvised shows.
As we grow, we’re doubling down on our philosophy of being unapologetically theatrical. Expect to see our new work featured at festivals, on tour across the UK, and through an exciting new partnership with The Pretend Company.
We can’t wait to share what’s next. Stay tuned!

JEN HARDY is an improviser, poet, teacher, and coach from the North West of England. She has performed with all-female comedy troupes and was a member of Liverpool’s first UCB-style improv team, as well as appearing in classic short-form shows inspired by Whose Line Is It Anyway?
Jen currently tours with Rubbish Shakespeare’s Incomplete Works of Shakespeare, which enjoyed a sell-out, five-star run at the Pleasance Courtyard during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Her solo show Wet Skeleton, developed with support from Arts Council England, continues to tour nationally. Her latest work, We Should Break Up — a duo show — dives into the spoken and unspoken complexities of romantic relationships.
A trained teacher, Jen delivers coaching and workshops across the UK and internationally. She has taught at major festivals, trained teams that have gone on to perform internationally, and supported individuals in launching professional careers in comedy and performance.
As co-director of the Liverpool Improvisation Festival, Jen is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of improvisation in all its forms and to empowering communities through performance and spontaneous expression.

ADAM HODGSON is a graduate of East 15 Acting School in the UK, and has improvised and performed all over the world since 2006.

He is currently the Content Director of Fun Kids, the UK’s children’s radio station. Fun Kids is the largest producer of children’s audio in Europe and in the past year has been nominated for UK Radio Station of the Year at the ARIAS and Podcast Network of the Year at the British Podcast Awards.
In addition to using improv in performance, Lloydie uses improv to help businesses and organisations become better at listening, collaboration and decision making. He has worked with teams at GlaxoSmithKline, Salesforce, LinkedIn, Investec, Mars Foods and IpsosMori.

SAM MARSHALL has been improvising (both on-stage and musically) for 10 years, and began coaching as creative director of his university improv society.
Based in Nottingham, he is the musical director of Rhymes Against Humanity, and a founding member of fantasy/sci-fi troupe Four Far Away.
Sam has three Leicester Comedy Festival Award nominations to his name, and you can hear his work behind the piano on Union Jack Radio's Dead British. He can also be found at the keys in the Sondheim-inspired Brand New Musical, and as one half of immortal improv lounge duo Play It Again.

MORE TO COME 2026!
Please reach us at kathleenrinaldi2016@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
With our background in theatre, and our love of improv, we can produce customized workshops for improv groups or corporations. It's amazing how much the skills inherent in improv can improve the teamwork in offices, the facility of communications for managers, and the ability to tolerate changes in the workplace.
While we love coaching, and have done it on several occasions, our extensive travel to perform at festivals around the world can make this difficult. We are, however, open to discussing short-term, skills-based workshops for individual groups or teams.
